I am running Ubuntu server. How do I set the IP address so it uses the same on on each restart. Right now if I restart it or shut it down I may not get the same IP address. Other then that I got everything working on it. I use FileZilla to access it. Because windows 11 or 10 can never find it. But I got it to use the same IP address. Thanks for the help.

What network does your Ubuntu server call home? Is it on your local home network? Or are you running it in the cloud?

If running from home, and if you have access to your router's DHCP protocol/server, you can set DHCP to always assign a specific IP to your Ubuntu host's NIC. That should be it.

If you statically assign an IP directly in your Ubuntu host, and don't manage your DHCP server, you risk an IP collision, where the IP gets dynamically assigned to another device, and they interfere.
