I trying to make sure i am doing this correctly. I trying to put it on wd 2t extral hard drive. I still want keep windows it on another hardirve. Can just disable it in bios. if so how in hp

You'd want to install it on /dev/sda1, going by the image.

If you want to be super-safe, disconnect internal drives and then install. Then, you can press (usually F12) the button to boot to USB during boot and use it without putting GRUB on the first drive, where it prefers to sit and where it'll install itself if left to its own devices.
