There is no one single home site for Linux distributions, there is a home site for the Linux Kernel, [ https://www.kernel.org ]
There are many official sites for the various Linux distributions, [many have their own associated forum]. Then there are the myriads of unofficial Linux sites, like this one, most [if not all] are manned by volunteers, and all have their own "rules of the site"
Linux.org is probably the biggest of this group. Then you can add things like specialist sites for Hacking & etc, then at the bottom of the list are [and they are few] country specific Linux groups. Such as [https://www.reddit.com/r/LinuxDenmark/ ].
Linux .org has in recent years become the main independent help forum for Linux users worldwide, Why? Your guess is as good as mine. As a member, I like to think that it is because we have a wider breath of collective Linux Knowledge than others, from components to gaming, from programming to Hacking. Even distribution developers and application developers as members.

As a web site Linux.org is among the best for general linux info and help. But Distrowatch gives you access to more linux distros than most any other site.

Linux Questions has been my main forum for many years, it is a general Linux forum, like on here, lots of helpful knowledgeable people, & again, all are voluntary helpers.

There's the official Linux site at https://kernel.org, there's possibly ~/ or /home/<user>, and then there's the GIT repo located at https://github.com/torvalds/linux.
