Browsing around on Distrowatch his morning I see a distro called Exton, which claims to be like puppy, except its installable to a hard drive.
It appears to based on Ubuntu. I notice the download is a little over 2Gb... so one thing is a lot different from Puppy off the bat.
I haven't installed it... I may try a VM this afternoon. But I dont think I'm the right guy to review it... I would like to see a Puppy user (expert) give a review.

off topic... but this guy cannot even get the opensuse clone right. (opsus) really wanted that with lxqt although i'm not comfortable with that desktop.

a puppy linux clone which has an iso as large as 2gb... almost makes me laugh.

Ray, thanks for sharing, I spotted that myself this morning.

It may be worth reading the reviews

I tried installing the Gentoo version ExGent a couple of months ago, and couldn't even install it, which for someone like me is most rare.

Cheers

Well, I attempted the Qemu/KVM VM... no luck... same problems as almost everyone else who reviewed it. Not ready for Primetime.

Makes you wonder.

Given what I experienced with the Gentoo, Wendy experienced with the openSUSE spin, and you have found with the Puppy one.

This guy Arne Exton has 12-15 flavours out --- what's the point if they do not work?

Perhaps he should focus on getting one right before moving on to another. I guess another question that begs answering is how can he provide support for that many?

Oh well
