Solved Can't figure out how to install this Ubuntu theme?

I get that it's maddening and I've been there with some Linux distros, many times.

Try going into your Settings Manager and see if things can be changed to more of what you want. If that doesn't play out well for you then, .......
try going to gnome-look directly and choose a theme that you can have control over.

When I ran the Gnome desktop this is how I would have control over things.

I download the theme unpack it and move it to either /usr/share/icons or /usr/share/themes.

Yes sir. I have been using Gnome Look along with Github exclusively for this theme and any additions. I started messaging the creator of the Orchis theme personally for help, and he's sort of helping, but not much. I think he's from China and it may be hard for him to translate what I'm asking exactly? Or maybe he just doesn't know how to speak to other humans well? Not sure. We've been back and fourth 4 or 5 times now, and it's like trying to pull teeth just to get him to explain in detail how it should work. So I'll just message him again, to see if he knows WHY the theme is not showing all the colors or the tweaks. I appreciate you trying to help.

And then your other post about asking over at Ubuntu forums, haha. Have you been there lately? It's a ghost town. There's literally 1-2 views for every single question there and 0-1 reply. It's a useless forum. But again, thanks for the suggestion.

sudo apt install orchis-gtk-theme

Open Appearance or Settings Manager and pick the theme you want.

If you could post what the package maintainer from China is saying to you I might be able to assist.

If you'd like, (just an idea) Zorin OS is Ubuntu under the hood. Maybe give it a spin in a virtual machine?
