Hello all! I've just got a new computer which I'm planning to install Linux Mint on. The current OS on the computer is Win11. I've been trying to get Balena Etcher to put the OS image on a flash drive for me, but it never gets past the first step of "flash from file". I've tried running it as an administrator, reinstalling, checking wifi connection, etc etc, but nothing has worked. Is there any advice you all have?

Sometime Balena Etcher can be a bit buggy have you tried Ventoy ? That is what I use

on winOS, use rufus --> https://rufus.ie/en/ - and reading the FAQ/documentation is a good idea
Rufus worked and I now have it on the flash drive, but I'm unable to install it (I've never worked with a UEFI menu before, and I can't find options to boot from the USB in there)

What make is your new pc

turn the pc off.

As you press the switch to turn back on again, tap either one of these keys....about once per second....don't rush... try them one at a time. If one doesnt work....shut the pc down again and try the other
