Another security issue.

Further to the subject matter, and back on topic :)

On #4 @osprey and #6 @Condobloke , sadly those don't work in Fedora 38. See my thread

https://www.linux.org/threads/any-members-using-fedora-39-beta-wizards-corner.47004/

and in particular my Post at #5 there.

For anyone who is using Fedora 37 or Fedora 38 as a daily driver, I would advocate upgrading to the Fedora 39 Beta released in mid September, and run updates and you will get the patch.

For other Fedora users, the final release is due out 17 October and should be fixed. (we hope)

Cheers

Yes. It did look like it needed fedora 39, as implied by glibc-2.38-6.fc39, to get clear of the vulnerability without further ado. For earlier fedoras, there was no mention in my brief survey.

Edit: Looks like fedora 39 is due out on the 17th of October, 10 days away: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedora_Linux_release_history

Didn't know they could do that, lol, but at least it went through Approval.

Yeah, their post contained a link and their post count was below the threshold. So, it went back into the approval queue. That was handy.

And, to be back on topic, I subscribe to some security notifications. Even if you're not an Ubuntu user, this list is a pretty good one:
