I want to learn ethical hacking. Is there a professional?
why not mint?before you learn "ethical hacking" you need to be well versed in the OS. are you well versed in Linux or are you wanting to learn that too?
If you are well versed in Linux then go get Kali and start playing.
If you are not well versed in Linux then DO NOT INSTALL KALI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
install Fedora or Ubuntu (not mint) and learn for a few months first. Then go from there.
No offense meant to mint but it is geared toward basic beginner and I fear the user will not learn linux as well as they would need to. If they are going to Kali you need to be better than just plug in mint and go.why not mint?
we are not here to argue. I cast my opinion and you can disagree, but bottom line is the person wants to evolve to Kali, I try to give the best advice I can. But I will not argue with you over a linux distro. Why not mint?
Indeed. Why not?
Is it Linux?....Yes !
Does it have a proven track record.....Yes !
Is it "easy" for any user to 'master'?.....Not necessarily. it has an enormous number of installable apps which all require differing degrees of expertise. Everybody's mileage can and will vary.
Is it capable of doing anything that any other distro can handle?.....Yes !. (with a few obvious exceptions, perhaps)
It is of interest that the main "users" of kali are underage and fail to understand what the hell kali is actually used for.....and that it has a 'snobbery' vibe attached to it......this I think is to attract the young ones who see themselves "hacking" into all and sundry and holding the world to ransom as a result.
Are there 'different' distros that present more of a challenge?....undoubtedly !!.....but to call Linux Mint a basic beginner package is a put down....not only for the distro itself, but also for the people who use it, day in and day out.
That very statement is both argumentative/offensive to Linux Mint users & the Distro. No offense meant to mint but it is geared toward basic beginner and I fear the user will not learn linux as well as they would need to
sorry you are so easily offended, maybe you should seek help. That very statement is both argumentative/offensive to Linux Mint users & the Distro.
End.

I am answering the person and what they want involves Kali but I fear they are not ready for it. I will not respond to the rest of your post as it is argumentative. Why are you pushing Kali...as it's not for beginners and I think you forget some beginners can't burn an ISO to a Flash Drive.
Personal attacks are not allowed it would be best to remember that. Since when is Mint a beginners Distro...there are heaps of beginners who can't even download it let alone install and use it. View attachment 19670
I used translator but the OP seems to have vanished leaving some people with hurt feelings behind.I have no idea what the OP was saying...that's also argumentative. View attachment 19671
