That's what I thought.

Unlike web-building spiders, wolf spiders do not build sticky capture webs to trap prey.

They're not web-spinning spiders. So, what spun the webs in the picture?

Well, it does specify 'sticky capture webs'. Maybe those aren't considered sticky or meant for capture?

We have wolf spiders in my area. They are also not known for spinning webs. I'm not sure if they could spin webs even if they wanted to.
 
I reported the post to the Mod at Reddit.

Whether anything comes from that remains to be seen.

It should draw a very firm response, like obliterating the thread and postings totally.

It may have been found or generated, via AI.

I will spend time later today seeking out the poster of that material.

It actually looks like a picture I've seen in the past. I'm 90% sure that I've seen that image before.

I don't think it was previously attributed to wolf spiders, however.

But, yeah, I am pretty confident that I've seen the picture before.
