How much do people here use GitHub, especially since Windows bought it?

What is the difference between GitHub and GitLab?

I used GitHub and git command on daily basis for long time, now I visit it only here and there because I'm not coding anything.

I don't care that MS bought GitHub, GitHub is still awesome and I find it better than other code hosting platforms.
There are some niche differences, but in essence they're same.

Other known alternative is Codeberg.

Some people have left GitHub to GitLab and keep a "mirror" on GitHub (a link to GitLab), how disrespectful, I woder why MS doesn't remove those links.

I did use github for private hosting for my projects. I will switch to codeberg or gitlab, tired of Microsoft adding their AI everywhere.

I’m not a programmer so I don’t I’ll need to use it.
Yes, you can use it to explore various software, to track changes and releases of your favorite software, you can star and subscribe to various software, you can organize your stars according to topic, you can engage with devs with feature request and bugs, you can discuss with them is discussions are enabled, you can find free games and plenty of other things.

GitHub isn't for developers only, although it's mainly used by them.

I do know that, still it's time to switch somewhere else. :D
Yes, but I don't find other alternatives appealing.

Windows bought it? You mean Microsoft?

I try my best to avoid using Microsoft software and services. I may find the occasional informative text or links on there, but as far as software is concerned, nope.

Spent the day setting up a new Codeberg account and moving all my Github files over to it.
