The house is 'passive solar', meaning it's kept cooler by passive means. (An example would be the roof's overhang. It's enough to block much of the sun during the summer, while the lower arc in the winter hits the windows just fine.)
I do regret not getting central air. It's possible to fit it today, but it'd be a hassle, take longer, and be more expensive.
By August, I'll be regretting not doing it.
