Hi all,
li
I just installed ubuntu on my computer and actually am loving it. Managed to get all softwares that I use in the app center, only software that I couldn't find a replacement for is a take off software that I use for construction estimating called Planswift - I have the version 11. I read that are some apps that I could install to run on Linux.
Have anyone tried it before?

Thanks!

construction Estimating is a bit niche, there are several automated estimating apps for Linux, but if you have flashed out for Planswift 11 licence I then suggest you first try running the app in bottles/wine, failing this run it in a Windows VM

Hello @carlisto
Welcome to the Linux.org forum, enjoy!
Can't be of much help on the estimate software. But sure others will.
In any event welcome to Linux :)

Welcome, @carlisto .

From the look of it, Planswift is not something that any of us could easily help you with.....not quickly, anyway.

Although there is a 'Free trial' available, you have to submit personal & company details, requesting a 'Demo' before they will send you a link to the download. It's at this last stage where most would-be helpers lose interest, because nobody likes giving out personal info where it isn't necessary......and these days, it all just becomes further grist for the 'A.I' mill.

Thanks. I noticed that it is a bit niche, the version of the software I have it is an old one from around 2015, when these were still perpetual and I really want to get rid of windows for good - will definetly try wine again, although I have been having some issues trying to install it.

Thanks, Mike. You are 100% correct. I will try to get the Wine going and see if it works, fingers crossed.
