I was using Kali 2024.4 on my laptop and everything was working. After I ran an update, the keyboard stopped working.
Today, I installed Kali 2025.2, and the laptop's keyboard still isn't working.
I have to use an external keyboard.
I've read various threads about modifying GRUB, but the advice didn't work for me.
Maybe someone else has had this problem. I'm using a Fujitsu laptop with an Intel Core i5 (10th generation) processor.

I've moved this to the Kali sub-forum.

I have a shot in the dark...

Does your laptop have an Fn (or other) key combination that disables the internal keyboard? It's a fairly common feature, but not on all laptops. I'd start there.

A key or a combination of keys that locks the keyboard doesn't exist in my laptop.

I was just about to give up, then I added

i8042.nomux=1

to GRUB and the keyboard started working.

@mikezelek welcome to linux.org.

If that solution continues to work, persisting over reboots, and a day or so, you can mark it as such by going to your first post, and do as follows

Near bottom left of the post click Edit - (No Prefix) - Solved
