I’m experiencing a strange issue with 5GHz Wi-Fi on Fedora. It was working fine before, but after running a system update, I can no longer connect to any 5GHz network. 2.4GHz works perfectly.

What happens:

· I can see the 5GHz network (ALHN-51DF-5) in the Wi-Fi list
· When I try to connect, I get errors
· 4GHz network (ALHN-51DF) connects without any problem

Error messages I get:

1. Error: 802-11-wireless-security.key-mgmt: property is missing
2. Connection activation failed: No suitable device found for this connection
3. Activation of network connection failed

My hardware:

· Wi-Fi card: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev bb)
· Device ID: 02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 [8086:08b1]
· Interface: wlp2s0
· Driver: iwlwifi

What I want to fix:

I want to be able to connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi networks again, just like before the updates.

Additional info:

· I’m using Fedora Workstation (latest version)
· 5GHz networks are visible, but connection always fails
· 2.4GHz works fine
· The problem started immediately after updating the system

I can also share screenshots of the errors and network list if needed.

Does anyone know which package or kernel update might have caused this? How can I fix it or revert the Wi-Fi related changes?

Thanks in advance.

Optional: What to attach as screenshots

You can attach images showing:

1. nmcli dev wifi list → shows 5GHz network visible
2. Error popup: Activation of network connection failed
3. Terminal output with nmcli connection up and the key-mgmt error
4. lspci -nn | grep -i network → confirms Intel 7260
5. sudo dmesg | grep iwlwifi → shows driver/firmware version
