Solved Dell Inspiron 16 7640 --cannot install Fedora??

Solved issue
Update: lol. I got Bazzite figured out. turns out when you load up a thumb drive with like 6-10 distros back to back, it tends to corrupt eventually. wiped it to zeros and re-wrote it, and it installed to my gaming system. :)

still working on the Dell laptop but it's coming together. Lots of tweaks and customizations I'll get to eventually, but it's good and I'm happy. :)

This topic can be marked as solved then ?

Dang, going to try Fedora on my HP AIO, wish me luck LOL. The PC came with Win10 originally.
It took me a few attemtps in UEFI settings to actually be able to run Rescuezilla for cloning existing stuff as a backup. I had to disable legacy, fast boot (not sure it was needed but I did it) and, of course, secure boot. This isn't Dell, so maybe it will go well. I might go back to LMDE at the end. We'll see.

Yeah, I wasn’t thrilled with the answer to “how to install fedora on my Dell laptop" being "don't!" But they were really nice about troubleshooting with me and whoever suggested Zorin Was onto something. It doesn’t have all of the tweaks and customizations, but it is working right out of the box including the fingerprint reader and the autorotate on the screen and works great for my daily driver. i’m using Ubuntu for my Plex server and eventually my Home Assistant client, and it doesn’t suck :-)

I installed Zorin on my laptop (in the footnote) after I kicked out Ubuntu 20.4 as no longer needing it. Dual booting the laptop. Exploring other options before I commit my main AIO to some Linux. So far both machines run on LMDE.
