From my previous questions I have asked how to make a USB bootable that boots Linux onto an old Chromebook. I have obtained the USB Drive but I am coming across some issues with my Kali Linux installation. When I boot from my USB Drive, there is always an error after the installation completes; the following words appear: "Couldn't verify USB: has UEFI 64", or something along those words. I tried several installations, and I have used both ISO and DD file attachments and still came across the same issue. I have looked around on the official MrChromeBox's website and couldn't find any solutions to my problem. I need a solid answer and solution to my issue with my old laptop(Chromebook) if it is bricked or not.

as a Chromebook it is likely to an eMMC hard-wired to the motherboard, of between 4 and 16 GB. in which case if its only 4 or 8 gb it won't be big enough to run much other than puppy, if 16 gb then you may get away with Linux Lite, Lubuntu, Kbuntu , Budhi [Kali requires 20 gb]"

Okay. That would make sense figuring my eMMC is only 16gb. My model of Chromebook is: HP Chromebook G5 11. Is there anyway I could use my 256gb SD card for my storage of Kali; or is that just not possible?

Not being over familiar with your Chromebook and its set up, it is difficult to say IF in the UEFI/BIOS you can make the SD card bootable then give it a whirl, if not but the machine is USB bootable then I suggest a 32 gb [or larger] Pendrive with Linux installed to it with persistence and run it from there.

If you go for either the SD card or the Pen drive with persistence the Linux [kali in your case] will run from within them not your machine's eMMC, if you just want a n OS to run from the eMMC that is similar to Kali then Lubuntu or Kbuntu are both Ubuntu based or with a bigger footprint Linux Lite
