LMDE 6 most likely will not be upgraded until Debian 13 is released. Late this year or early next.

I would see that as a mistake, not giving lmde6 a 'boost' at the same time as linux mint

Lmde6 is pretty good as it is, but keeping some focus on it would not hurt

Edit to Add: perhaps lmde6 will get some 'flow on' from the release of Debian 12.9
