Good news:

I was able to independently verify that the ZOOM R8 audio interface works in Manjaro 25 XFCE Linux 6.14 without any special drivers. I was able to use the 2 built-in mics on the ZOOM R8 to record a live 44.1 kHz stereo WAV file into Cockos REAPER v7.37 (for Linux 64-bit).

The WAV file showed up immediately during recording and played back just fine.

I chose to use my laptop computer's built-in headphones output for monitoring (as usual) instead of using the R8 for monitoring via it's USB. Aside from my settings, the R8 was also available as an audio output (not just available as an audio input).

This is great news, as prices of the R8 have come down and it has been discontinued by ZOOM.
It's also amuzing, since ZOOM never claimed any Linux compatibility for the R8, but it works in Linux.
I didn't test the other sampling rates yet, nor specific bit resolution(s), but I wouldn't expect any problems.

P.S.-The ZOOM R8 can also be used cautiously as a USB (micro)SD card reader for WAV file transfers, etc.
