This will be of interest to those that like stability over cutting edge.
Ubuntu's upcoming 24.04 to get 12 years of support according to one source.
 


The official flavors will likely still get their 3 years of support.

That doesn't then make them unusable. It means you enable extended support (they're calling it "Pro" now, as far as I know) and then babysit yourself as the official support will have ended. The important packages should still get updates as they're in the repositories that get LTS.

It's no different than installing Ubuntu and then installing a different DE over it.

I guess ubuntu has to offer up something to compete with the fact that Linux mint runs rings around it in terms of stability, etc etc etc
