If you'd like to see how fast your USB devices are transferring data, you can do that. There's a little application that's not all that well known and it's called usbtop.
It's a bit interesting to install and I only did the installation in a Mint box (though it is installed on a couple of Lubuntu devices but that was done ages ago). I know it's out there for other systems. You can figure it out, I'm sure of it!
It's not that complicated. It's also not that useful. It just shows you the current transfer speeds of USB devices. Then again, that's the UNIX Way. Do one thing and do it well. So, it has that going for it.
