I installed TLP on my Kubuntu 25.04 laptop, and my USB-C ports stopped working. I uninstalled the program, but this didn't fix the problem. I think it might have been because I did a complete removal with Synaptic Package Manager instead of a normal removal, but I'm not sure. Additionally, it made me unable to pick a power profile for my device, saying "Power profiles are not supported on your device." It's also made my NVIDIA graphics card not want to run sometimes, or something, because games will suddenly stop recognizing it and only detect the integrated AMD graphics, and I have to restart to fix it. I tried looking at the TLP source code to see what exactly it changes with the system configuration when it installs or first runs so I can revert it, but I couldn't understand it. How can I fix this? I tried reinstalling TLP and doing a regular removal, but it didn't work either.

Welcome to the forums

from a terminal in order run
dpkg configure -a
sudo apt update && apt
--fix-missing
sudo apt fix--broken install
sudo apt upgrade

TlP is not compatible with power profiles so power profiles will be removed when you install TLP. I doubt your problem with usb c is the result of tlp. You need to reinstall power profiles to complete the removal of TLP.

Okay, well, at least one (maybe two?) problems solved. I'll try to figure out if the hardware is the problem for the USB-C. Thank you.
