I want to take you up on that offer to exclude my virtual machine from SnapShots. Is something that would apply to any future virtual machines I may create? If not that's okay. I'll look back at my notes if I need to do this again.

Have you ever thought about using Foxclone in addition to (or possibly in place of) Timeshift?

That is all I use. It's great! It will take a snapshot (image) of your ENTIRE DRIVE! I love it and highly recommend it. It saves the backup to a different drive. I use an external 5TB USB drive.
