Personal folder mount if it is encrypted on login automatically?

Hi, I forgot the password for ubuntu 16.04 LTS but I have auto login enabled. I need to save the files and I don't remember if I encrypted the personal folder. Having automatic login does the folder mount if it is encrypted? How can I know if I have configured it encrypted?

You can just boot to a live USB/DVD and see if you can open the /home directory. If you can, it's not encrypted.
