Ubuntu has announced that they will deploy a new install for version 24.04.
This will I'm sure eventually affect Distros derived from ubuntu such as Mint and others.

There are some changes in Lubuntu as well, but I believe we use a different installer. The whole boot scenario has been altered. It's pretty neat, if you want to spin up a VM to check it out.

The issues with ubiquity and python 3.12 probably more so, esp. as Ubuntu may not fix them (ubiquity is now deprecated). That may have been worked on already too (by downstream OSes that are Ubuntu based).

They can always use calamares which Lubuntu has used since 18.10, was used by Ubuntu Studio for a few releases (not any more though), with Kubuntu also using it for noble.
