Hi everyone!

I’m Ernesto, a Computer Engineering student at the University of Alicante (Spain). I’ve been a Linux enthusiast for quite some time now, and I’ve developed a deep passion for open-source projects—especially CLI tools and applications that enhance the Linux experience.

Programming is more than just a major for me; it’s what I love to do. I’ve worked on several personal projects over the years, but I always kept them on me :). However, I recently decided to take the first step into the community by finally publishing my first open-source tool (I’ve shared a post about it if you’re curious!).

That experience made me realize how much I want to get properly involved in this world. I’m here to learn, meet fellow enthusiasts, and eventually contribute to larger projects. I’m really excited to see how the community works from the inside and to grow as a developer alongside you all.

If you have any advice for a student starting his open-source journey or just want to say hi, I’d love to connect!

Thank you!

Hello @Dropdaz Ernesto,
Welcome to the Linux.org forum, enjoy the journey! :)

Welcome to the Forums!

Hi Ernesto,

A Engineer here too. Just in a different field. I do a lot of coding, but It's all machine code and variables. Conflicting talerences involving thermal expansion per materials can cause me to pop a few aspirin from time to time! Linux to me is a stress reliever. Welcome!

Try doing it for a living - like with most other things, that'll take the shine off of it. But the projects you love working on make it all worth while.

Meanwhile, welcome aboard.

Welcome.
