BTW its download uses SHA256, which was implemented by Linux Mint after their trouble, and became an industry standard.
The hostile agent compromise only altered the download link, to provide a backdoored version, and did not compromise the original iso, It was all fixed in less than 24 hours (20 February 2016 IIRC, LM 17.3 Cinnamon), the Bulgarian server was identified, and so on, so you have nothing to be concerned with with modern Mint.
