As per my previous recent posts, I had to have the HD reformatted because the DNS settings were messed up from a program uninstall.
With this (which I did not think of) is whatever it is that remembers who you are in logging into e-mail, or what ever site you frequently use online, is now gone.
I did not think this would be a problem in attempting to log into my Yahoo account. When I do try to log in, it asks for a verification of another e-mail address which I cannot log into either. So I tried to call the support (Saturday) and I get this automated phone system that does not get you to a live person. It also asks you to have your credit card handy. My first thought is they are closed on weekend? Second, I guess I have to bite the bullet and fork over some $$$ so I can get into my e-mail. I absolutely hate this disgusting scam of charging me to access my email. There are people who have email accounts that are not as sophisticated as these geeks may be. I feel it is taking advantage of people. But if it comes to that, does anyone know how much it is, and is calling them on Monday-Friday a better option? I could go on, but this depresses me. Has anyone else had this problem or had to deal with these people before?

Sorry to hear the grief your having with your Yahoo mail.

I'd try giving them a call Monday morning say after 9 a.m. and see if you can bypass the AI and get to a real live person.

Oh, and paying a fee to get into your email account is absurdly ridiculous.
I wouldn't give them a dime bro.

I read in a google search that if your account is locked it will unlock after 12 hours. You can use the SignIn Helper to reset your password also. The link below can help you fix things in your Yahoo account.

Maybe consider a proton email account. I haven't had any problems with Proton or Gmail.

If you don't mind me asking, what is preventing you from logging into your other account for verification?

It is asking me to verify my ID through an email account I can't access. Can't get into that account because it asks me through a phone number, to send verification code. That number is non existent from another state which I no longer live in. I will try and call them later. It absolutely pisses me off that they want to charge you to fix issues with your account. But it's my main e-mail contact account. Have had it for over 20 years. The AI intro is another thing that raises my blood pressure. But I'll call and see what happens.

I hope you get this resolved and soon. Let us know how the phone call goes.

hopefully you can get in and then export/migrate the mailbox to a different provider. surprised yahoo still exists.

Just out of interest: did you have it logged in with a passkey?
I am still old fashioned and using the password and MFA options, hesitant to go to the hardware interaction, as it may lock me out of my account if the hardware goes wrong.
My impression is that as the time passes, they are tying an ever heavier ball to our ankle to limit our freedoms. We have become the product on the market.

No. I simply could not get in as all cookies or whatever it is that tells it it's me were wiped out when this HD was reformatted. As per your impressions, I would agree. This is why I supported a particular candidate who supported breaking up these tech monopolies. They want to dominate how we live. I don't support that philosophy. Period.
