Solved Need help installing new mouse pointer

Solved issue

AndrewP
I have this cursor (Bronze Constantine) on my older desktop running LM21, but I got it a few years ago and I know that it was not from the above supplied website ( as I recall, it was off the Pling page). I do remember that I had to go through some gyrations and use an installer helper to accomplish it, and I might have obtained it when running LM20, but I'm convinced that something, somewhere in the coding has changed sometime between LM21 and 22 and they are not compatible.

I tried the code you supplied (thanks for the sharp eyes), but it still didn't work. I would presume that older versions or other distros might still work, but I think we might be at a dead-end here. Would like to hope that there is still a solution out there that someone knows about!
But thanks again for trying!

You can check it out by copying installed cursor theme to another LM installation.

I am using Linux Mint 22.1 'Xia' Cinnamon. Just now I started from scratch and succeeded. Would you mind to try again? Here are the steps:

Step 1. Remove Gamma.Gold directory to start from scratch:
Bash:
sudo rm -r /usr/share/icons/Gamma.Gold

Step 2. Download (DL) Gamma.Gold.1-1.tar.gz (here is the link you posted at the beginning: https://www.pling.com/s/Cinnamon/p/1171471 )
Firefox downloads it as Gamma.Gold.1-1.tar.tar and not .tar.gz, so rename the file to .tar.gz

Step 3. Double-click the archive to open it in Archive Manager.

Step 4. Press 'Extract' button, select 'All Files' and 'Keep directory structure'. Navigate to 'Downloads' directory. Press 'Extract' button and then 'Show the files'. Directory contents opens.

Step 5. Right-click on an empty space and select 'Open in terminal'. The terminal opens.

Step 6. Run the cursor theme installer by typing:
Bash:
sudo ./install-ubuntu.sh

Step 7. Open Menu->Preferences->Themes and select the 'Gamma.Gold' theme for 'Mouse Pointer'. The mouse cursor should immediately change to yellow.

AndrewP;
Sorry for the late reply, I was on the road most of yesterday and wife filled in the rest of my schedule.

Thank you very much - IT WORKED!!!!!!
I am now able to install some other cursors I had downloaded!
I have some cursors on my LM21 machine that are no longer available that I will try transfering via thumb drive this weekend.
Thank you again.

Yesterday I forgot to mention how to make the cursor preview image:

Step 8. Change the current directory to Downloads. Then:
Bash:
sudo cp ./Gamma.Gold/Gamma.Gold.png /usr/share/icons/Gamma.Gold/cursors/thumbnail.png
