For anyone who needs to use this app (or other apps) but do not have an android or apple smartphone. I was able to get access to this app using Waydroid on Linux Mint. Just make sure port 53 is not in use and that you select gapps instead of vanilla when initially setting up (although you can add/change it later on like I had to). Gapps includes the Google Play store which allows you to install the app and have it working properly. I tried downloading the apk file from other places online and was able to install and open the app but it did not work properly.

Edit - Forgot to mention if your not using wayland then Waydroid will not run. I had to install and run a program named weston and run Waydroid through weston.

Yea I would have used a non Microsoft authenticator program but this was needed for my work. I had tried using a Linux authenticator initially to see if I could access my work account but it didn't work.
