Here some instructions on using the grub shell which you have encountered:

The reason the machine has booted to the grub prompt could be for quite a number of reasons including: corrupted grub files, missing boot partition, damaged filesystem that can't be read, etc.
The first thing that helps is to have a verified installation file on the medium that one is using to install, usually an .iso file on a usb. Verifying the .iso file with the checksums will at least give you confidence that it's not the media that is causing the problem.

Looks like your Grub can't find the basic information.The configuration files are either missing or Grub just needs to be re-installed. The initramfs-linux.img and the vmlinuz-linux images are the most important in the /boot directory.

Do you have the Live USB with Kali on it?
Good, I'm glad that you still do.
You can use that to boot it Live and install Grub.

easiest fix ever. Dump KALI...
Kali is meant for hacking and security testing only. it is NOT MEANT FOR NORMAL USE.
if you are trying to hack or do security then KALI is fine. otherwise for normal use please please please use.
Fedora, Ubuntu, or Mint and you will see things work right.
if you are a hacker then use Kali otherwise use the Linux meant for the task.
That is exactly why I'm using kali
Kali should only be used by people that are experienced in Linux to start. NEVER start learning with Kali. Knowing this how experienced are you with Linux? if you are new follow my original advice. Otherwise if you are experienced then we will all help get you going. But if you are going to try to learn by using Kali, please reconsider.
