I have a linux server that just quit booting from its boot disk. The disk seems fine. I can mount it via a live cd and copy files from it.
The BIOS has a funny option to let me run a UEFI program. If I use this option I can boot into my linux server. So it seems like the disk is fine, but when the computer comes up it claims there is not bootable media.
For context, I did an experiment with this machine. Prior to having my booting issue, I took the main hard drive out, placed another hard drive in. Spun up a different OS, tried it for a while. Then put the original hard drive back. It was at this point that I could no longer boot into the machine.
This boot disk still has the boot flag.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
