It is solid, this machine hasn't seen such uptimes in weeks !
Been using NVIDIA 550.67 since ~ 2024-03-20.

Yes, it seems to have improved the uptime. (Currently NixOS unstable with Kernel 6.8.7 and Nvidia 550.76). What is also weird is that when it crashes, the xattr output in the log is gone. I don't see there anymore the reason of the crash.

The currently last comment there is that his/her crashes stopped when using the Open kernel module. I did not try that, but I will when the system crashes again.

With the open kernel module I did not have any crashes so far. I was using the laptop yesterday for 3 hours in the evening after switching, and today so far 6 hours uptime.
Immediately after switching I had a crash in the browser which nearly took down KDE, but according to the log it was in libbrotli and the system recovered without me needing to reset it. But this probably has nothing to do with current topic.

As of today, I continue to have the intermittent full system lockups, mainly with high load, but not necessarily high GPU load, unless I use the older NVIDIA driver. On Arch Linux, I specifically use lib32-nvidia-535xx-utils, nvidia-535xx-utils, nvidia-535xx-dkms, and opencl-nvidia-535xx from the AUR. Has anybody else solved this problem with the latest official NVIDIA driver?

Did you try the nvidia-open package? With the open source kernel modules I don't have any crashes and the system is rock stable, also system works fine in the lastest version. With the closed source kernel modules I experience also the crashes.

Thanks, @homunkulus . I've been using nvidia-open for the last month, and I haven't had any more crashes.

For anybody still having NVIDIA problems and using workarounds, I've been using the latest plain Arch "nvidia" package (nvidia 565.57.01-8) on this same hardware since 2024-11-25, with no crashes so far.
I still have oddities with HDMI output needing some unplugging and plugging back in of the cable or virtual terminal switches, to actually output to the external monitor, on each reboot, but the different drivers haven't changed that problem.
