Hi all. I have recently downloaded all of my photos from google, we have parted company. With the pics came .json files, all 15000 of them. Is there a way to delete them as a whole as opposed to individually. Thanks.

Go to the right directory and try rm -rf *.json I suppose.

Did you hold your breath when you pressed......enter ?

Well done to you, it works and i thank you.

It's not a problem. Glad to help. You can mark the thread as solved by editing your first post.

Basically, it's a simple 'rm' command that uses a wildcard. Anything matching the *.json pattern will be deleted. That would include foo.json, foo1.json, bar.json, etc... In hindsight, the -rf wasn't required. I just seem to type those out of habit.

Before I learnt how to copy and paste pics on to Forums...I had a free account on one of those Photo sites...well they decided it wasn't going to be free anymore and I wasn't going to pay a ransom to get my photos back.

Lucky for me I had backups on an External HDD...no such thing as a free lunch.
