Hello everyone! Im on ArcoLinux and my sound card was not detectable. Later I was trying this:

sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-fix.conf <<<'options snd-hda-intel dmic_detect=0'
Open “alsa-base.conf” from “/etc/modprobe.d/”
and add this line: “options snd-hda-intel model=dell-vostro enable=1 index=0”

NowI have sound from my speakers, but my laptop cant see extarnal microphone. Can you please help me.The only time my microphone and speakers worked was on Kubuntu. But also after some changes.

My sound card is: Multimedia audio controller [0401]: Intel Corporation Smart Sound Technology Audio Controller [8086:34c8] (rev 30)
Kernel: 5.7.2-arch1-1

I have made one step and now my mic and speakers are working under the xfce4.

Step:

1. Installed Gnome

AND after step number 1 - after rebooting, my speakers and mic started to work under xfce4 and Gnome.

Questions:
How can I know what audio and mic drivers my system is using now?
I want to reinstall my system and use ONLY xfce4 WITHOUT Gnome, what kind of audio drivers and drivers for mic should I install on a new system?

Istall alsa-utils and run it from terminal.
it will open a window that you need to press “m” key to unmute your machine.
it’s a common issue in arch installations.
