So, I am trying out hyprland in a VM (something I do when I want to try something different but don't want to mess up my current system configuration).
Let me get this out of the way, I use Arch BTW.
Okay. So, in this VM, I have hyprland installed and I've installed Waybar. That's about it.
I'm not very familiar with hyprland/wayland terminology yet. It's all still pretty new to me. It's pretty alien to me so far but I get the concept.
So, a couple things...
First, with Waybar, I don't see any of the programs I have running in it or anything like Workspaces either. So, I can switch to workspace 1, 2, 3, 4, etc... But I can't see what's on each workspace nor the workspaces themselves.
I'm an AwesomeWM user so I am used to seeing at LEAST '1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8' up on the top bar for that Tiling Window Manager. I see nothing like that in Waybar. I've got Firefox open and it's not even showing in that top bar. There's a clear spot on the left to show what's running but it's not showing me anything.
Is there anything else I need to add to waybar so I can see what's running and see all my workspaces? If there is, please let me know so I can install it and add that to my install notes.
Also, if there's a git repository with a kick butt waybar and hyprland in general configuration all ready to go for Arch systems, that would be cool too.
In the meanwhile, I'm going to add a few more things to this fresh Arch install VM so I have more to play around with here.
Thanks!
EDIT: Actually found a pretty neat one made by JaKooLit for Arch Linux. It's a little buggy in the VM. Some color issues and I can't get rofi to launch even though there's a command for it. I need to look at this config file and see what's going on I think. But it looks pretty slick actually!
