My speakers worked yesterday when I had completed the Mint installation, but today they don't.

Above is the status of the audio drivers.
Can anyone help please? I'm lost.

A few things to try...

Where does the sound not work? Browser? Music player? I see this has built-in speakers, but do you have
external speakers also? Headphones? Are the headphones plugged in?

Might be useful to share a screenshot of your audio settings? And for more control of audio settings you can also install "pavucontrol", not sure what the Linux Mint Cinnamon sounds settings look like now days as I've not used Cinnamon in a long time?

You can also open the terminal and run pavucontrol to see if something is muted/turned down. Be sure to pay attention to any drop down menus and, of course, have some sound playing while you poke at it.

On bottom bar far right [next to clock] click on speaker icon, open sound settings, the window that opens should show what output devices you have and which if any are enabled, and not muted,
example first box should be the onboard sound card, then next may be speakers on screen 2 followed by say..Headphones, select and make sure the device you wish to use is selected.

As you can see, this is the only speaker th system is detecting, though I've done everything to find the right inbuilt speaker, and the software is able to detect it. (Realtek) but I cannot get it to work using this version of Linux. Should I try another?

David little box says sound Muted and the output bar is not showing any sound, place cursor on output bar about 3/4 of the way to rigt and click [mute should go]

Thanks Brian. I noticed that and unmuted it. Still nothing.

I'm just about to take the dogs out and bang my head against the wall for a few minutes to see if that helps.
