I have an external HD disk with 1 terabite of storge.

I do the hackthebox academy.
they have their own version of Parrot OS I can install either drectly to my computer or to a USB or External HD,

Can someone expplain to me or point me to a tutoril that shows me how to install Another Linux OS/iso to my external hard drive that I can then boot from and save all my files to almost like a persistent live usb but on my external hard drive.

Do you want an actual install or live usb with persistent storage?

If you do the latter also make sure you install Grub on the usb drive.

I had to re install Ubuntu from my usb because timeshift kept creating stuff amd crashed my entire system couldn't even load gnome manager.

Newly installed 25.10 looks great tho.

Also. I create my usb drives with drofus on android. It works flawlessly with usbs. But woth external hard drives it has troubles.

Also I really need to fit doing school with hackthebox into my schedule so for now I'll be doing school work and layer tonight I'll be back online to fond a solution. Also it isn't that necessary to have an external hard drive I can boot from because I'm getting a new laptop for Christmas woth 1tb hard drive space. It would've just been very convenient to be able to do whenever I didn't feel like cramming more junk into my main drive. Thanks in advance.
