How to install Linux Mint as the sole OS on my PC?

it was replaced by another one with Windows 10.
yep, a modern [2017/18 ] machine small main drive big storage drive,

to fit on your main drive I would be looking at Anti-x, Lubuntu, Alpine or Bodhi with a first choice Lubuntu, then anti-x [personal preference]

you have another option and that is to multiboot, leaving windows on the small ssd and installing Mint LMDE or 22 [LMDE is lighter and slightly faster] to the 1TB drive.

Are you sure this is not a SD card ?

For all the messing around it may save, it may go well for you to buy a suitable SSD 250GB
Thanks.
Have no idea what it is. All I know is that Windows 7 Pro. is installed on it as the store told me. Linux Mint should be possible to be installed on it if Windows could be. This is why I ask for guidance of installing Linux Mint on this SSD HDD.

In that case you can simply forget about windows and use Linux mint cinnamon as it is.
Thanks.
"forget about windows" Exactly. I want to remove Windows and wipe the disks and install Linux Mint as the only OS on this laptop. This is why I ask for assistance how to install Linux Mint on the SSD.

Have learnt a little bit of running Linux Mint Cinnamon. I do not want to change to any other distro.

well your options are then keep windows and install mint [either version] ad a multiboot, OR swap the small SSD for one of a minimum 302gb [you will still need the 1TB for storage

the SanDisk, only 16GB capacity, can be used as an SSD and OS can be installed on it. This is exactly why I ask for assistance to install Linux Mint on this SSD in my laptop.
If you want to install Linux mint cinnamon on 16 gb, your only option is to use it for /boot/efi partition and /(root) partition and then use 1tb for /home partition.
To do this you need to learn about partition, how Linux mint cinnamon use partition, and finally you have to use "something else" option during installation. You have to learn everything, there is no other option.

This is good enough for me.
"use it for /boot/efi partition and /(root) partition"
a. Do not know how to create this partition.
b. Do not know what & where are the /boot/efi and /(root).
c. Do not know how to arrange them in the installer so that the installer so installs.

You can read this. Hopefully it will help you to understand

trying to make the 16GB SSD work foir you is, in my opinion, a complicated waste of time.

It introduces complexities.....lots of them !!

I believe from what you have written, that you wish to simplify your pc life

Using that 16GB flash drive/card will NOT simplify your pc life...it will do the opposite.

I suppose it might be possible to put your OS on the HDD, wiping the SSD portion along the way.

You are right! Will install Linux Mint Cinnamon on the SATA HDD.

Will wipe Windows out of the disks, including the SSD if I can, and install Linux Mint Cinnamon on the SATA HDD. Will endure and try to get used to the slow start.

if you have the wherewithall ($) i would buy a SSD to put it on. The increase in speed is way above a hdd

Also, it'd require some customization during the installation, but you might be able to fit your root partition on the SSD. (If applicable, the EFI boot partition won't be very large.)

For some smaller distros, you might still be able to get away with a root partition that small.

Though I'd aim for simplicity, as mentioned above. I'd forgo the SSD entirely and just install it on the HDD. (Which is what it looks like you're going to try.)
