    I am trying to find a program that will allow me to scan my hardware on my computer.
    Running Ubuntu 17.01 i think

    Hi @sweetrio, and welcome!

    There are some simple shell commands available on your system now that can give some hardware details (lspci, lsusb, etc). Or see if this link can get you going with what you need.
