As we close out 2025 and welcome 2026, we want to thank our community for another year together.
2025 was a landmark year for Linux. Rust officially graduated from experimental status to become a permanent core language in the Linux kernel alongside C and assembly. Linux kernel 6.18 was released as the year's long-term support (LTS) version, providing stability through December 2027.
Whether you're here asking questions, sharing solutions, or just learning more about Linux, we appreciate you being part of this community.
Here's to another year ahead!
Happy New Year from Linux.org!
