gnuinos

((a rant)): i'm sick and tired of signing up into forums. yesterday on another forum i belong to. i had to type my password 20 times. i was sure i typed it in correctly. then i had to type a "captcha" as well. it should have been the last time i even cared about that other place. before i took a deep breath. i finally got through today. but then my internet fell off and had to reactivate it and log in again.

so i'm not going to join the other forum. which contains the developer(s) of this project.

((/rant))

here i want to thank very much. the ones who created this project. for creating this distribution. i wanted to like this.

sadly it seems to care only about yellow cable ethernet. cannot use usb tether to mobile device. i understand it avoids wifi. this is really the only thing stopping me. from downloading the "10102025" release with xfce desktop. because i need to know if it at least supports usb tether and how.

i have two other iso's. one with xfce desktop i got i think late in 2022. but claims to be "daedalus" release. a bit over 900mib but comes with gimp, inkscape, web browser and a couple of other programs. i also have the august.2023 release with openbox. i could install either of them locally. but i cannot update. not eager to update the xfce desktop version. since i like how it looks.

i tried with kde plasma and with "chimaera" base. but couldn't get it operating. i really don't prefer xfce desktop now. but i would go with it again. only if i could have live internet on it. at least so i could install and update more software.

don't care about "systemd" and which is better with or without it.

i was the one who wrote the earliest review. for gnuinos on distrowatch. <----

I had a look at their website but seems with their name having "GNU" in their name and "linux-libre" in their logo meaning they are probably aiming at being a "Free GNU/Linux distributions" according to the guidelines of the GNU project even though they aren't listed there.
This means that all proprietary software and drivers aren't available which is why you are probably having issues with that.
