Solved Consistent crashing for two months on two distros

Solved issue
No, so my headphones are normally bluetooth, and when they are on bluetooth the audio lags, when I plug them in however, the audio lag doesn't happen.
I found the WIFI channel restriction in the GUI and set it to 5ghz.
That didn't fix the issue. Here is the output from bmon.

I saw 'Ip6 Address Er 6.68K', and I'm wondering if it's errors with IPv6?

I decided to disable IPv6 and see what would happen. Before I did this the errors were at 10.34k.

Sadly disabling IPv6 didn't work. The crash still happened but it took longer. I then decided to disable 5ghz and try just 2.4ghz.
That time there was no crash. There was some audio lag and a bit of video lag tho. I would be okay with just staying on 2.4ghz but I was only getting 30Mbps compared to the 200-250 I normally get, so I would like to be able to use 5ghz.
 


Ok, I don't see anything else that hints at errors as well. Some of the error categories would spike if it was wifi congestion or something like that, and those are all normal. I don't know what the "Ipv6 Address er" might mean. Perhaps it is just a failure to resolve a host to IPv6. Sadly 5Ghz can still be hit and miss on Linux, but it can change quickly. When you started the thread you had already tried a number of kernel options, it should be worthwhile looking into specific 5Ghz issues with the chipset. I see it is marketed as AX210, indeed a widely used Intel chipset. That should raise probability to find troubleshooting tips - the chipset is the important part. I saw https://community.frame.work/t/guide-possible-solution-for-ax210-issues/38200 a suggestion to disable ax mode (first post, a bit old). Ultimately, it is all a bit fishing in the blue, have a look at the thread. Searching the linux kernel wireless issues for chipset related bug reports is also a good source.

UPDATE: skip me giving up, I decided to un give up. Check my next message for solution.

Well I tried a bunch of new stuff I found but at this point I'm just so sick of this issue and it only happens in some games. I think I'll use USB tethering with my phone for games with issues for now (because that works completely fine) and then eventually get ethernet. I might change my mind eventually but I am sick of this issue. I know there will probably be someone coming along this thread with the same issue really hoping that this thread has a solution so I'm sorry to them, but I spent enough time on this. Thank you so much for your help but I don't really know if this issue is truly fixable for me.

You're welcome. Yes, you have done a lot of analysing, searching and trial-error fixes, plus even bought extra hardware to address it. Good you found a stable work-around for your main issue nonetheless. Regarding wifi perhaps check occasionally if updated modules automagically better it - always remove custom kernel module options to test if you do. Intel wifi chips used to be a save bet for stable Linux support, perhaps they improve again.
 
Okay so I know I said I'd give up but I hadn't started on getting ethernet yet and then I started having crashes in deep rock galactic all of a sudden so I decided to give it another shot. I'm updating this post in case anyone needs the troubleshooting ideas. I talked with an AI to do some rapid troubleshooting and it told me to limit my Wi-Fi card's PCI slot to gen 3 instead of gen 4. It said that my Wi-Fi card can't even use all of gen 2 speeds, so if it doesn't work for future people looking at this thread, they can try gen 2. It also said to disable ASPM in the BIOS.
After I limited the speed to gen 3 and turned off ASPM it worked. During toubleshooting before I fixed it I found out that doing a speed test would instantly force a crash due to high internet use. After the changes I could run a speed test and download a game at the same time in the background and I had minor issues (just a couple of small lag spikes). I tried some things to fix those minor lag spikes, but it only happened when pushing my internet speed as far as it could go, so I decided that I'd leave it like that, because I normally don't have that much network usage and it was only like 5 small lag spikes in half an hour. I've played a bunch of deep rock galactic and snowrunner since and it has been great.

TLDR: Try limiting your wifi card to a generation back and disable ASPM and that might fix it. If that doesn't fix it, try 2 generations back. If you do fix it with this, and also have some lag spikes with high usage, just disable background downloading in steam and that should fix the lag.
