I used Hyprland for almost a year in Arch. It's nice compositor, minimalist and very customizable. I can't see installing it causing too many problems but just like any other software look it up along with your distro to get a better idea of how it works.

zero experience re hyprland.

Massive experience in recovering from screw ups. Mostly self inflicted.

Make sure you take a Timeshift snapshot and save it to an external drive, Before you start the install.

How can I help you? I'm one of likely to be few users on Linux.org that daily drives Hyprland on my primary workstation. Glad to help where I can.

It seems your largest hurdle would be your integrated graphics (i looked up your graphics, its well supported) and your broadcom wireless card being that they're a bit dated. But if you've run other linux distro's and desktop environments it shouldn't be an issue.

My advise is to take note of what drivers you've got installed that are actively working and ensure to install those post Arch/Fedora install with Hyprland.

While I believe Fedora now offers Hyprland in it's official repo's I have no experience installing it on Fedora systems. That said, if you chose fedora, once you've got it installed; Hyprland would be managed 100% the same on either system. Make no mistake I'm intimate with Fedora as well, I just haven't used Hyprland on it as I prefer Arch Linux for my workstation.

Bit of a shameless plug here, but only because it's helped many over the past year. I created a bit of a Hyprland Educational Course last year; while some of it is a little dated; it's still functional and you may find it very useful; I still get comments weekly to this day thanking me for the guide and state that it's helped them in some way, shape, or form.

If you have any particular questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad to help if I can.

Here's a settings app if you find the Hyprland config file too scare, but Hyprland has good documentation.

These are the two most used shells, I use the first one because I like how minimal and clean it its but a lot of people like the second one was well.
