Arranging Icons in Linux 21

I just installed Linux 21. When I installed applications the icons all snapped to the left side of the screen. I have looked for a way to turn off the snap to grid and arrange the icons by function. How do I do that?

Welcome to Linux.org forum.

If your using the Mint 21 Cinnamon version you can adjust the parameters of the icons by right clicking the desktop and selecting customize from the dialogue box. Good luck.
You did not say which distro your using so I'm assuming it's Mint 21.
