There are all sorts of things, often powerful things, that we only interact with via a terminal. This includes (in many ways) a modern mainframe.
They don't tend to have monitors that show a GUI for the actual underlying operating system, though you might need a monitor for some configuration. It has come a long way since I built out my first data center in 1993.
Moore's Law is pretty much dead but it's still absolutely amazing how far computation has come, even in recent years.
