404 Error During Any Update or Install

Hello there,

When I try to install a repository, app or update, I get 404 errors. I've tried on different networks, with and without a VPN and hardwired.

This is on Kubuntu 23.10. Just to add; this didn't occur on previous versions. I didn't do an update to 23.10, I instead did a clean install using an ISO.

All of those PPAs don't have files for Mantic. Those are up to the PPA author to update and provide.

This is one of the many reasons Ubuntu is moving to Snaps. PPAs are used for the wrong reasons and you end up with stuff like this. They're really supposed to be personal archives, not a means to distribute software to the masses.

Anyhow, in your software sources you can disable those (and the CDROM entry) if you want. That software won't update. Rather than removing them, you can check in once in a while (enable them again) to see if the maintainer has updated the available packages.

Some PPA maintainers don't even do interim releases, just the LTS releases.
 
Also, and very important - I would not use Grub Customizer if you paid me to.

It will modify your computer's startup files in ways not intended for, and place important files and folders where they are difficult to return to where they should be.

If you do find a way to install it... your risk, but I would at least take a full snapshot with Timeshift first.

You shouldn't need a PPA to use flatpaks in Ubuntu. Remove the PPA, purge the application, and install the application again and it should find the application in the default repositories.

With any luck, this won't hamper your installed flatpak applications. You haven't needed a PPA for flatpaks for quite a while.
