I recently saw a mention of "Vendefoul Wolf" Linux on facebook. It's based on Devuan and sounds interesting but the majority of the information I see about it is non-English. Before I dig into translating everything, I wonder if anyone here has tried it out?

Haven't yet. It's available at Distrowatch via regular download, or there are torrents from their site.
There's the Excalibur from 24 January, or one called Viriato from mid-April.
Excalibur uses Calamares, Viriato Refracta.
If I give it a run, I will probably go Xfce.

@Fae3iSUx , it has actually been around for at least 3 years, can use as little as 200 MB RAM, and has a number of security features available to it.
The OP uses TinyCore as his daily driver, so it might be right up his alley.
Maybe you should do a little more research, before you pan an idea or a distro you clearly know nothing about.

I have not done any research, so apologies for that. I assumed this was something new based on the OP mentioning a facebook find.
That said, what exactly about this distro would make anyone choose it over Devuan? The more I look into it, the more it feels like another copy-paste distro with a different name attached to it.
After digging a bit further, the project website says:

"Includes LibreWolf, currently the most secure browser, and KeePassXC" I already use both on Devuan right now.
" NO SYSTEMD We follow the Unix philosophy: do one thing, do it well" Exactly the same philisophy as Devuan
"XLIBRE GRAPHICS SERVER The first distribution to adopt XLibre as the default X server for all versions." I already installed and use XLibre on Devuan
"Who is Vendefoul Designed for any modern computer and older systems with limited RAM, always with 64-bit architecture. An ideal version for revitalizing limited hardware" Again, nothing unique compared to Devuan.
"OpenRC by default. SysV or Runit are optional" Devuan already uses SysV by default with OpenRC available as an option. This just reshuffles the defaults.
I could keep going, but at this point I do not see anything that actually distinguishes this distro. It looks like they bundled OpenRC, XLibre, LibreWolf, and KeePassXC into a preconfigured ISO and called it a new distribution. I already run all of those myself on Devuan, except OpenRC, and I do not see why I would need an entirely separate distro for that.

Indeed, I was incorrect so I fixed it best I could.
Folks do these exercises on Devuan telegram group regularly. No need for a new distro for that I guess. I do not practice minimizing RAM myself though, no need for that

I actually downloaded the Excallibur / XFCE one right after I made that post, but haven't tried it out yet - it will probably be a few days before I get to it.
I suspect one reason I haven't heard much about it is the "language barrier" - not that's a problem for the distro as such, but I am almost completely monolingual (and the "almost" part doesn't involve Spanish) so I would be less likely to hear of it.
I don't know what the magic number of years might be after which a distro can be deemed "less likely to fold". I suppose it depends on things like the size and makeup of the development team, but I suspect the number is more than three. Still, even if it's not likely to last long term, three years is more than just a flash in the pan so it probably won't disappear before I give it a whirl.
And no, it almost certainly won't be replacing Tiny Core as my go-to OS. I'm just looking to broaden my horizons a little bit - the last couple of distros I tried didn't really do it for me.
Speaking of "years" and "Tiny Core", I can't believe it's been that long but those guys have been at it since 2008.

I downloaded the same iso.
That's a custom grub background I have set up for now, and tweaked since to reflect the contents of my full stable.
You won't have an issue with the Spanish, it is very low key.
So far, I found that if you dig for its Welcome window facility, that appears in Spanish by default, but has the option to change it to other eg English.
I used
free -hand its output showed about 950 MiB RAM in use, which was higher than I expected, but you may get better results.Enjoy, and if you keep it, we can have each others' backs, lol.

Amusingly, when I went to look for that download (so as to move it from my home directory to somewhere more appropriate), there was no file - not even a partial file. I went back and grabbed it again, paying careful attention to the download process. This time there were no problems and the file was -actually- here. But I still won't get to try it out for a little while yet. I think I have a laptop floating around with an ssd in it, so I'll probably put it on that.

Just installed it today, but the Calamares installer failed a few times before I gave up on it and installed Venderfoul's own Lupinus installer, which worked flawlessly. I haven't had any luck with Calamares on Devuan or any of it's derived distros. Even from the LiveUSB, if Lupinus isn't already there, you can install it using
.
Default user is "Lobo" password 12. Root is "Root" and the password is 1234.
Very fast, very light, XLibre by default, but some nice GUI tools from MX-Linux are included, for those of us who like things "gooey." I was disappointed in their "software manager" though. It's really slow, one app at a time, and provides no descriptions. I abandoned it and installed Synaptic via the terminal, because that's what I'm used to using anyway, and it ran ten times faster than Venderfoul's own software manager.
I also added some standard stuff to my Xfce desktop (which brings in elogind but I don't care) in order to find the standard features like Settings Manager and all it's submenus. I think Venderfoul uses a stripped-down, very minimal version of Xfce, but you can download SonicDE (a fork of KDE that uses XLibre and sort of thumbs it's nose at Wayland) and other desktop environments, or just a window manager for especially blazing fast, mind-bending speed. Akin to antiX, which is saying a lot!

The Distro needs to mature untill I'd actually use it. I tried to install it twice and the installer didn't complete using basic installation steps. When I tried to report a bug, I landed in a non english telegram group. I wouldn't recommend using this distro at this point. Tough I like the Idea behind this Distro
Just install Devuan, not a fork of it, with new name slapped on it after changing some defaults and a wallpaper. (and introducing new bugs)

I use it on all my machines at the moment.

Oh, I wouldn't put you to that trouble.
Calamares in my environment will time out when it is configuring the grub bootloader, with an error about os-prober expiring (because of all the distros I run).
I have a workaround for that.
