Does gedit have option for traditional menu bar?

The gedit version available in the Debian repos is version 48.1-4. Does anyone know if it has the option for a traditional menu bar? The screenshot shows a stupid "modern" look.

Not as far as I am aware.

There used to be a plugin around 10 years ago, but gedit has not been maintained regularly for years.

Ubuntu replaced it with Gnome Text Editor in or before their 24.04 series began.

Okay, thanks. I was looking for a text editor that is UTF-16 compatible, but I don't care anymore. I don't need it.
