Bluetooth keyboard fails to stay connected inj Bodhi Linux

The following happens every day, several times a day:
My bluetooth keyboard (or Bodhi's bluetooth manager) seems to always shut down when not in use. The blueman icon on the task bar occassionally disappears, and the keyboard provides no input when typing. Also, it it still listed in the bluetooth manager as present but disconnected... when I reconnect, there is no input from the keyboard.
There are no power settings that control the bluetooth within BodhiI. So, I 'removed' the bt keyboard from the devices, searched for it, paired it connected it, tusted it, and stlll no input from the keyboard. Finally, disconnected the device, re-connected it, and it worked. I will now type a few important emails, and prepare myself for the next idle period, when the fiasco starts again.
If anyone out there knows a series of steps I can take to have a 'normal' ready-to-use bluetooth keyboard, please help.

Please have a look if the keyboard gets new MAC address after each reconnect and you have to find and pair again? That was the issue with my BT mouse and found a solution here:

The mac address stays the same...
Here's what I've observed today:

To begin with, the bt icon on the task bar is not grayed out. it is bright blue.
1. Out of interrest, I tried pushing the kb connect button, and the kb light flashed steadily. Still no input from keyboard.
2. I opened the bt device manager from the task bar. (I notice it always requires a second click to open the bt manager)There was no data activity indicated, and it was not connected.
3. I clicked 'connect' and the kb now works fine.

It seems this is the only way to resolve this issue after an idle period. I just wish I could instruct the keyboard / bt manager to NEVER close the bt connection (for my daily personal desktop usage, it serves no purpose)

I've searched about this but found no technical info to share, however here is AI output that may help because I suspect this is suspend issue or power management problem:

To prevent your Bluetooth keyboard from sleeping on Linux with Blueman, you can disable the auto power management feature. Open Blueman, go to View > Plugins, select Power Manager, and uncheck the option for Auto Power On.
