Need help installing wine

@wendy-lebaron :-

Snap. I've been using mmtrt's WINE AppImages for some years now. They're the most correctly put-together WINE packages I've yet found, and obviate the need for installing the multilib stuff because they include the 32-bit 'native' Windows .dlls AND the SYSWOW64 stuff, too.....automatically switching internally according to the app you wish to run.

These are what I've been using to build the 'current' WINE 'portables' for the Puppy community. They're perfect for this.

Mike. ;)
in a different topic. i had said you were the one. that said anything about this anywhere on internet. it's how i found out.

now i have to go and find that post i made.

before knowing about this. i was seriously thinking about going all-linux without compromise. take the painful decision of giving up hobbyist music production and computer programming. alternatively i was supposed to try "alienbob's" recipe of putting "multilib" on slackware...

but this appimage makes all of it unnecessary!

take the painful decision of giving up hobbyist music production and computer programming.

Both of those things are easily accomplished with Linux -- especially the programming part. Bitwig Studio is available for Linux, among other DAW alternatives.
